One Saturday morning I awoke to a dense fog that enveloped all of downtown. I walked over to the Stone Arch Bridge and, serendipitously, was able to capture people proceeding into and out of the mist at the same time.

For some reason I am drawn to cemeteries. On a chilly November day I grabbed by camera and headed to Ft. Snelling National Cemetery where both my Mom and Dad and one set of Grandparents are buried. After visiting their gravesites, I was exiting the cemetery when I stopped to admire the order and unending symmetry of the tombstones, thinking about the thousands of brave men and women in their final resting places, all with countless stories to tell.

I was riding my bike along the path that runs next to the new Vikings Stadium, which was still under construction. On one side of the building I noticed an unusual reflection of one of the cranes. It reminded me of a Dr. Seuss drawing.

While visiting my sister and her husband in Hong Kong a few years ago we took a ferry to Macau, known as the "Las Vegas of China". While we didn't do any gambling, we did admire splendid sights, from the old ruins of St. Paul's church where only a facade remains to beautifully architected buildings like this one.

On one of the coldest days of 2010 light from an early morning sun created a shadow of the Stone Arch Bridge on the frozen Mississippi River. I was unprepared for the frigid surroundings. (Let’s hope that’s not the last time that section of the river freezes….)

This sculpture was moved to the Gold Medal Park during the renovation of the Sculpture Garden. Its intricate design with multiple hanging items reminded me of Dorothy looking out her window in the middle of the tornado and seeing items from her farm passing by.
