Pieces United features drawing and paper collages showcasing Toni Dachis's unique techniques that make ordinary items extraordinary. Her “palate” is manipulated recycled magazines; she folds the pages to create three-dimensional texture and imagery. Toni’s drawings take customary crosshatching to a new level by using repetitive shapes as her way of creating shading in her drawings. Many hours are dedicated in creating her works from taking a small piece and repeating it many times to create a whole; a process that she finds therapeutic and spiritual.
