Nate Burbeck is a Minnesota based painter who has exhibited extensively throughout the US. He received a BFA from St. John’s University and has been awarded numerous grants and awards, most recently a 2022 Minnesota State Arts Board Creative Support for Individuals grant.
Nate’ paintings “depict psychologically infused narratives of an uncanny world where the familiar and ordinary are imbued with a sense of mystery and the sublime. Figures inhabit environments suspended between dreams and reality, transfixed by surreal aberrations, uneasy visions and transported states of mind. These scenes are rendered with photorealist detail and set in prototypical Middle American locales such as manicured suburban housing tracts, backyards, graffitied underpasses and train tracks, often illuminated by the late afternoon sunsets of early dusk and fading twilight.”- Nate Burbeck
